Rubin Science Assemblies are weekly virtual sessions that focus on learning to use the Rubin data products, pipelines, and services.
All are welcome to attend. Students are especially encouraged to participate.
The assemblies are run by the Rubin Community Science team.
Format
The format alternates between tutorials and drop-in office hours, with the occasional presentation. Every assembly starts with announcements.
- Tutorials - A member of the Rubin community will lead a hands-on tutorial that demonstrates how to do a specific type of astronomical data analysis in the Rubin Science Platform.
- Drop-in office hour - Rubin staff members will lead a roundtable for attendees to raise questions, issues, or co-working topics, then organize attendees into breakout rooms. This is a great venue to get live virtual help on any Rubin-related topic.
- Presentations - A talk from a member of the Rubin community, typically without a hands-on component.
Assemblies with tutorials or presentations are recorded (see below).
