Introducing Space Surveyors: a New Rubin Observatory game
Figure out the best way to capture the most stars, galaxies, and asteroids as you operate a simulated version of Rubin Observatory's telescope
How many objects can you discover in a night?
In Rubin Observatory's new game, Space Surveyors, click or tap to move Rubin's camera around the sky and take images as objects appear and disappear, waiting to be discovered! As the "night" progresses, players attempt to capture objects like stars, galaxies, supernovae, comets, and asteroids.
All you need to play is 60 spare seconds and a web browser—but watch out for those pesky clouds and airplanes.
