The Rubin Observatory telescope mount is ready for a new phase of testing
Rubin Observatory's telescope support structure is now ready for the full-size replicas of the 8.4-meter mirror and other optical components, including the stand-in for Rubin’s giant 3200-megapixel camera.
This is a huge step toward completion of Rubin Observatory! Now a new phase of testing can begin, and Rubin is on track to revolutionize understanding of dark matter, dark energy, the changing Universe, and other big questions of astronomy and astrophysics.
